Operated by T.M. Williams around 1884-1889, the ledgers offer invaluable history and insights into the residents of Port Royal and have been instrumental in the recreation of the general store. With donations from the My TN State Park Fundraiser, Port Royal State Historic Park aims to fund the professional conservation of these ledgers and support their digitization for convenient access at the park, without compromising the integrity of the originals. Additionally, the digitized records would be made accessible to the public for independent research, preserving and sharing the rich history of Port Royal for generations to come.Support the preservation of history by voting for Port Royal State Historic Park today!

Many thanks to the Rangers and the entire Team at Port Royal for working so hard to make this a fabulous state park to hike and explore with kids, as well as canoe and kayak. What a wonderous, beautiful place to visit!

We have many happy memories of Port Royal as it was home for many years. So glad to see the preservation of this special park and the historically accurate restoration of it’s general store building!

Port Royal has a historical element that most parks are missing. The Red River runs along the park, and we would love to see the State rebuild the covered bridge eventually. The covered bridge was a landmark in previous years.
