Your contributions significantly enhance the quality of our state parks. Donations support a range of vital projects, including improving hiking trails and bridges, conserving habitats for wildlife, upgrading playgrounds, installing interpretive signage, enhancing living conditions for our raptor friends, and bolstering equipment and supplies for emergency rescue services. Your support makes these essential projects possible, creating a better and more enjoyable experience for everyone who visits our state parks!

    The sunsets at Reelfoot are amazing, especially when seen from the Ranger guided pontoon boat tours! We love Reelfoot. It's unlike any other Tennessee State Park.

    We love Reelfoot State Park. We have been going at least once a year for more than 40 years. We go mostly in the winter to see the eagles but we enjoy it year round when we can. It is such a beautiful, interesting place with a unique history. We are grateful for the education, protection & rescue work they do with the eagles, owls, hawks & other birds. Wish the old Air Park INN was still there. We always liked staying there.

About Reelfoot Lake State Park

Reelfoot Lake State Park is located in the northwest corner of Tennessee and is noted for its fishing, boating and wildlife viewing. The 15,000 acre lake was created by a series of violent earthquakes in 1811-1812 that caused the Mississippi River to flow backwards for a short period of time, creating Reelfoot Lake.  

The park’s ecosystem is unlike any other place in Tennessee. Reelfoot lake is a flooded forest. While Majestic Cypress trees rise above the water, below the surface are many submerged Cypress stumps. A variety of aquatic plants and flowers occupy the shoreline and saturate the shallow water. The lake harbors almost every kind of shore and wading bird as well as golden and American bald eagles.
