A great state park right on the beautiful Hiwassee River! And it doesn’t hurt that it’s basically in my backyard

About Hiwasee/Ocoee Scenic River State Park
These internationally recognized whitewater sites are well known for their scenic beauty and recreational opportunities.
Floating, canoeing, and rafting are the major attractions on both the Hiwassee and Ocoee Rivers. Based on the International Scale of River Difficulty, the rivers include Class I, II, III, IV, and V rapids. While both locations offer exceptional whitewater experiences, even calm-looking streams can be hazardous for those unfamiliar with basic floating techniques or water safety.
Hiwassee/Ocoee Scenic River State Park is home to Gee Creek, a 47-site primitive tent campground. Each site includes a table, fire ring, and grill. Adjacent to the campground is the Gee Creek Wilderness of the Cherokee National Forest.
